As collectible as they come, these boxes are. Mostly used to store stash, safety pins and paper clips. Yes, I asked around.

We found Hokey Pokey in a wine store. So the TG is obviously us. Here’s to Chardonnay and mango ice cream.
The packaging is simple, fun, plastic, not slippery when frosty and a sweet message outside that asks us to ‘please reuse the tub for something else, like fruits’.

With its Nandi tones and crimson shades, No-Mad crafts products straight from the heart. Distinct and very wantable.
When K first pointed me to their post, the first thing I noticed was the effort that went into each carton. The sides were hand sewn and the whole package was well thought through. Careful placement of the label that was so central and so easy to have been done in a slap-on-postage stamp kind of way. But not.
The cloth bags carry on it the very Indian buta print. A bold red and 100% cotton make these pouches very reusable. The canvas labels on it are inspired by desi laundry tags – perfect in its finish and charming in its source of inspiration.

I like it when brands think like your mother. They give you a good quality ingredient (asafoetida) and put it into a package that fits perfectly well into your kitchen – once you carefully peel the label off, that is. This steel dabba can continue holding hing from other brands way after this is done. Good, confident one, Aachi.
I picked mine up at the Village supermarket on Wheeler Road, Bangalore.

It’s a good, chunky bath bar. It’s also natural, made by hand and does minimal harm to the environment. The packaging’s the same – It’s one piece of cardboard that is wrapped around the soap, it’s biodegradable, the inks are safer than the normal ones we are used to seeing and the branding is enhanced by embossing it right onto the pack. What I liked more was that the site also gave some genuinely good tips on how to reuse the packaging. Use it to store earrings and small knick-knacks. Or (my favourite) pop it into your linen drawer. I’d also cut it into long strips and use them as bookmarks. Mark your favourite poem with a favourite fragrance. La.
If you’re an old, ignored CD case in Vinod Lal Heera Eshwer‘s home, you’re in luck.
He came up with this really simple way to put up his paintings in old CD cases – “Drill a small hole on one side of a cd case. Insert painting. Hang on nail.”
Pii Tip – You could put in anything! Memorable movie tickets, notes on napkins or photographs.
What a lovely way to begin Pii posts after my stay at the yogashram. Here is pure ayurvedic goodness the way Maa and Maa Nature intended it to be. Handmade (looking) paper labels on bottles that are meant to be reused. Meaning, fill it with your besan-sandalwood facewash when you go out of town next. Catch them on FB and visit the site here.
Located in hot and humid Kochi, this green and really cool corner is a lovely space to grab a bite, meet friends, run through your lists or just sip some perfectly chilled water from these sterilized, reusable glass bottles (with cork stoppers!) that the cafe keeps aside just for us thirsty patrons. The label is replaced with a new one every time. A small, simple way to make a reused article look and feel new. Not for sale, sadly. But we like not owning things, but experiencing them, don’t we?

Holy Lama Naturals in Auroville create organic bath and beauty products and a range of divine essential oils. Featured here is their kewra soap, packed in dried areca leaf. Simple thing is that it can be used as a soap dish too.
Clean Planet is an online eco-store that has totes, gift bags and these neat veggie bags that can go into the fridge and keep your veggies fresh. Their site is a storehouse of green news and tips. 
Recycle Sundays: Till a tree is strong enough to grow by itself in the big bad ground, give an old carton something to feel good about. Thought up by Vinod Lal Heera Eshwer.
Recycle Sundays: When India sends a parcel via post across the seas or airs, India wraps it in fine used muslins and cottons, stitches up the corners and sometimes even seals it with red wax. The fabric comes from old clothes and bits of tailor-scraps. P.S - When was the last time you sent a parcel of anything to anyone?
